May Meeting

Our May meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 9th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Upstairs Classroom at the Waldemere Fire Station.  The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for those who wish to socialize before the meeting begins.  

Brooke Andrews will be teaching us how to make molds using silicone and cornstarch, and explaining the possibilities of using the one part press molds in your work.  She will be demonstrating a simple and inexpensive way of making the silicone molds.  Since the supplies are inexpensive and the process is simple, one can afford to make larger molder, as well as a plethora of smaller ones.  The molds are great for reproducing jewelry, buttons, knobs, fan pulls, figures, doll heads and hands, bits and pieces to attach to wall art, and for greeting cards.  

At the Play Day on Mar 28th, kits will be available for you to set up your own mold making studio!  Here are some examples of art created using the molds:
